Product Description

Flexible Spring Roller is made on a flexible spring type steel core. Good for irregular and curved surfaces.

Ideal for consolidating concave or convex curved areas. Used for tank work, flooring, and other FRP shop applications. Spring roller head flexes to roll out various shapes. Semi-rigid, spring roller molds to radius and still provides adequate pressure to achieve good consolidating. These laminating rollers are suitable for use with any glass fiber matting. Large size works well for floor work. Small size can be used for overhead and vertical surface work.

Wooden handle could be not threaded or have internal threads that allow for the use of a threaded extension handle.

This spring roller excels at consolidating irregular substrates where traditional rigid rollers fail to maintain contact. We tested it on cylindrical vessel repairs and domed hatches—the semi-rigid steel spine adapts seamlessly to compound curves, ensuring uniform compaction. The construction supports daily commercial use. It would be helpful if the vendor could provide clear guidelines on the maximum recommended curve radius or flex limit, but so far, it handles our heavy-duty laminates flawlessly.

This flexible spring roller delivers reliable performance for FRP layup and consolidation work. The semi-rigid steel core provides consistent pressure while easily conforming to complex convex and concave geometries. We’ve used it on curved tank sections and composite flooring projects, and it effectively eliminates air pockets without displacing the resin. The 45mm diameter offers excellent control. One suggestion for the manufacturer: offering an aluminum or chemical-resistant ergonomic handle option would be great for operators on long-shift industrial laminating. Overall, it significantly reduces labor time compared to rigid rollers.
